Paper Towns ★★½

The movie starts off with Quentin, as a boy who sees his new neighbor named Margo for the first time. Sort of love at first sight, but mainly for Quentin only. They became quite close quickly and spent a lot of time together. One day Margo and Quentin witnessed something that would change their lives for good.

Unfortunately, they began to unconsciously drift away from each other’s life because of what they saw that day. They started feeling differently towards life as well as each other. It affected their friendship very much. Thus became strangers.  However, on a quiet night, and now as teenagers, Margo asked for Quentin’s help. And their adventure begins…

This adaptation from a best selling novel written by John Green is quite a teenage adventure and found it very entertaining and hilarious! Although, the story itself did make me think if it was all worth it. However, most John Green fans would take this movie very seriously and sink deeply into it.

I was thankful enough that there were life lessons to ponder on and few good funny scenes to take home. On top of that, it gives away a perspective on what we are all afraid of as a teen, which is “adulthood”.

From the certain types of expectations, may it be from ourselves, our parents or society and to our future plans and goals in life. This is quite a neatly done movie focusing on growing up and everything that comes along with it. Such things like, graduation, prom, friendship and young love.

This is an amusing and delightful film to watch.
