Watch Over Me ★★★½

Watch over me is an award winning short film written and directed by Simon Pearce which is built around action and drama. The film is about a mysterious guy who seems to have a troubled past. Ironically he finds himself in an unfamiliar place only to get in trouble again. However, this time he turns out to be the hero helping a local get her daughter back.

I find the movie a bit gripping. Simon Pearce, the director did a good job building up the action theme intensity. One scene that specifically struck me was the bar scene, where the mystery guy was asked by one of the  gang members to leave. This scene was quite intense for me. I did feel a bit frightened for the guy.

The actors did a really great job with their roles most especially the lead hero and the lead villain. The sound effects were well placed and effective. I did however find the setting slightly too dark for a night setting. There were some frames that I think lost a little bit of detail because of the lack of lighting.

Overall, this film did very well telling the story. Any action fan would definitely enjoy watching this film.
