Synopsis:
When 400,000 men couldn’t get home…
home came for them. From filmmaker Christopher Nolan (“Interstellar,” “Inception,” “The Dark Knight” Trilogy) comes the epic action thriller “Dunkirk.”
“Dunkirk” opens as hundreds of thousands of British and Allied troops are surrounded by enemy forces. Trapped on the beach with their backs to the sea, they face an impossible situation as the enemy closes in.
The story unfolds on land, sea and air. RAF Spitfires engage the enemy in the skies above the Channel, trying to protect the defenceless men below. Meanwhile, hundreds of small boats manned by both military and civilians are mounting a desperate rescue effort, risking their lives in a race against time to save even a fraction of their army.

Film Review:
From the heart-pounding opening scene until the last frame, gripping at its best, Dunkirk is a one of a kind war story that will bring you to that time where you would never imagine. Nolan’s non-linear style of storytelling has made yet again a compelling film that will make you feel uneasy with fear while you forget that you are sitting inside a cinema.
The added impact comes from the remarkable sound effects along with the IMAX cameras made the film feel more realistic than any other war movies. Also watching it in IMAX is highly recommended in unlocking all the film’s potential and experience the best of what it offers. On a different note, the incredible casting with many high calibre actors, contributed to the film’s effectiveness. Actors like Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance, Cillian Murphy and Kenneth Branagh made the scenes more intense as they play their roles excellently. Not to mention an impressive acting debut for Foinn Whitehead who played Tommy, the main protagonist who we follow throughout the movie.
Dunkirk is a movie about heroes and ordinary people coming together to resist a significant threat. An excellent and noteworthy film based on the true story of The Battle of Dunkirk. This movie is by far one of the greatest films this year and maybe of all time.
