Compartment No.6★★★★★
Completely opening up to people can be challenging and a slow process for some. It’s an emotional journey you take when you feel most vulnerable—the uncertainty of maintaining the connection after everything is out in the open.
Based on a novel, Compartment No.6, in a literal and symbolic sense, depicts being on a journey with self, with the help of someone to go through the process with you. This film has transformed a lifelong wandering into a few days between two strangers, Laura (Seidi Haarla) and Ljoha (Yuri Borisov). The exceptional performances from both have made the film a success.
All the elements of this story exuded honesty and realness most sincerely. I treasured this film in multiple ways. The emotions it made me feel from the beginning until the end was sublime. I highly respect the direction, script cinematography and editing of this movie; it captured all of life’s essence. The film delivered an outstanding opportunity to witness a beautiful relationship blossom into the most precious one within a tiny space.
Compartment No.6 is incredible as a story and as a film altogether. It has captured my heart and taken it away into the Arctic. An unconventional story about love and openness to unimaginable possibilities. I am grateful to have seen this film. Pure, unpretentiousness and unassumingness are the most wholesome, I thought.
