The Spy Who Dumped Me ★★★½

Classic arcade games, and fight scenes- interesting!

I’m not entirely sure, but whenever I come across a long movie title, it usually is good. Ergo The Spy Who Dumped Me, (TSWDM in short) got my attention. Not only for its slightly long movie title but the names Mila Kunis and Kate Mckinnon sounds exciting.  I somewhat had a feeling that this could be fun!

One of the things I like about TSWDM is their fluidity. It starts off by making you think that it’s a movie that you’ve seen before. But then it transitions into something more meaningful. And not your usual comedy films about pretty girls and flawlessness. In this film, you’ll get the “crazy adventure of a lifetime” theme but in a heartfelt way. A more down to earth approach armed with an amusing script. The film felt authentic and unpretentious- one of the things I like about it.

With an aim for kicking ass literally and figuratively, both Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon did fantastically in their first duo. A part two is likely foreseeable.
