When things get real, there’s a certain amount of crudeness.

Obscenities is a film series that shows the hidden and most authentic version of human nature- always a fascinating theme. The three-part story carries a strong and clear message. In the authentic self, we show our hidden sides, we are not aware of completely.

Episode One:
Many of us dream of winning the lottery, but when we come face to face with it, it’s a difficult situation to be in. I find it engaging in a highly awkward way. To see how the story unfolded was very intense.

Episode Two:
The internet is a great place to get lost while scrolling through the obscure and the weird. And wouldn’t it be great to find out if they are real? This part I enjoyed for its quirkiness and slightly creepy atmosphere. It brought me back to “Tales from the Crypt” and “Twilight Zone.”

Episode Three:
The last part of the series is quite the representation of Obscenities as a whole. The moment when human behaviour changes when there’s an unpleasant occurrence and how it affects individual responses is beyond fascinating to observe.

In general, this film has many creative strengths, and the script stands out as brilliantly written. There’s a good balance between humour and sincerity to send the message as clearly as possible. I absolutely enjoyed the dark comedy and would like to see more episodes.

Most importantly, the female led cast and inclusivity was more than a plus. It created a unique environment that made the whole series more compelling and intriguing. Stories that have never been shared before like this.
